Vatican punts on Medjugorje decision

As we predicted, the Vatican declined to overturn the Bishop's rulings and declare Medjugorje supernatural.

On the other hand, they didn't formally condemn them either, obviously giving consideration to the disruption it would cause.

Prudence won out over clarity which I think is unfortunate but I will respect the decision and continue- with the church's approval- to believe this is an absolute fraud.

Stating- incredibly- that it was "impossible" to determine whether Medjugorje was authentic or not, the church issued a Nihil Obstat which they explained means that each person is free to decide for themselves whether they believe it or not. The Vatican stated they would need a "magic wand" to determine the authenticity. That "Magic wand" is the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the charism of Infallibility.

This strategy will result with Medjugorje slowly dying on the vine as millions continue to learn that it's a fraud. The pro- Medjugorje side needed a confirmation of Supernatural origin that they didn't get. Medjugorje's end is now certain though it may take longer than I would like.
