Things turned fast after Palm Sunday

At last night's vigil mass, the homily focused on the fickleness of the crowd and how those who were shouting "Hosanna in the highest" on Sunday were shouting "Crucify Him" just 5 days later.
Jesus wasted little time in disabusing the people of their misguided notions of who He was.
Things turned quickly, as recounted in Matthew Chapter 21.
In verses 10 and 11, witnessing His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, people were inquiring about who this was and what the commotion was all about.
By verse 12, Jesus is flipping tables and driving people out of the temple with a whip. So much for letting the plot slowly build.
The drama continues through chapters 21-24 where Jesus methodically builds the case against the Jewish leaders and the kingdom they are about to lose. He foretells the destruction that awaits them in 70 AD.

In Chapter 25, Jesus delivers 3 parables that spell out Jesus closing statement on how Faith, Grace and Works cooperate to form and save the believer. Then, in verse 26, Mary of Bethany starts to set the scene of what is to come by breaking open a very expensive jar of perfumed oil.
What follows is the greatest drama the world has ever known. We witness the drama of the Eternity Himself buckling under the weight of fear, abandonment, agony, exhaustion and humiliation. We grapple with the mystery of how God can feel abandoned by God, how God can die and how God can rise again.
It all started on this very day- March 29th. In the year 33 AD, in the city of Jerusalem, the most dramatic 8 days in world history begins.
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
