The latest on Republican control of the house

The fight for control of the House of Representatives essentially comes down to 8 contested seats. 5 of the seats are held by Republicans and 3 by Democrats. They are in California, Arizona and Maine. All of the incumbents have narrow leads which means Republicans are ahead 5-3.

Democrats would need to go 8-0 in these races to take the House.
