Praying in a cemetary

A truly humbling devotion the Catholic church has centers on the first 8 days of November. A Catholic can gain a plenary indulgence for someone who has passed on before.
On each of these 8 days, a seperate indulgence can be gained by spending time in prayer in a cemetary. It doesn't even have to be a Catholic cemetary.
From the outside, this might seem strange but I thank God for this priceless devotion.
I was able to take advantage of it today and will try to do all 8 days.
Saturday, November 7th is going to be the biggest challenge as I travel from Virginia to Colorado and New Mexico, but I am going to try and get it in.
Why do I think this devotion is so powerful? Every Christian must focus on the last 4 things- death, judgement, heaven and hell. Every single name tells a story. I literally saw two different family members today. One died at age 100 and another that died at less than 1. It really drove the point home. We know not when the master returns.
I am so humbled to have been to so many places and met so many people. I have met some wonderful, holy people and I have met some people who seem to be evil itself. It shows how much I am growing as a person by God's power, that I pity those people now more than become angry. They seem to be blissfully unaware that they will one day be in the ground and facing judgement as will we all will.
Go to the graveyard. it will help you become humble.
