Devotional recommendation- Divine Intimacy

Compiled by Father Gabriel of Saint Mary Magdalen O.C.D, it is a densely packed powerhouse of meditations and devotional prayers that take you through the entire liturgical year from the start of Advent to the end of Ordinary time. In the main section of the book are the readings for each Sunday and week of the year, in the smaller section are those immovable feasts that fall on the same day each year such as Christmas Day.

For me, the commitment was usually about an hour a week but some may read faster than me. I tended to do most of the weekly reading/praying on Sunday but others might have a different approach.

During the heart of the major seasons- Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, plan on a little bit more workload but it's worth it.

The meditations are intensely introspective and draw heavily on Saints like Theresa of Avila and Saint John of the Cross. This treasure was given to me in 2022 for Christmas at an intensely low point of my life by my friend Susan Crouder. It takes the full year to get through it, so it requires a real commitment. By the Grace of God, I am about to complete it for the 2nd time at which point I may start right over again.
