Political commentary: The time to end the filibuster is now.

The conclusion that common sense leads you to is probably the right one and voting is no exception. Lately, some liberal politicians have been pretty much saying the quiet part out loud and have created a national emergency that must be addressed.
So, let me just say this as clearly as I can.
If you oppose a photo ID requirement to vote, it's obvious that you intend to cheat.
If you oppose ICE agents at polling places, it's obvious that you intend to cheat.
If you mandate the use of voting machines made in, and run by, Maduro's Venezuela, it's obvious that you intend to cheat.
If you push to allow mail in ballots that are unverified and received a week after election day, it's obvious you intend to cheat.
If you push to block verification of eligibility of organizations to receive large-scale government funding, it's obvious that you intend to cheat.
Safeguards to prevent these types of abuses are just plain common sense and are absolutely vital to the survival of our republic.
The filibuster is a gimmick in the United States Senate that has enshrined minority rule as a fundamental reality even when it is a clear detriment to the public good. Legislation that protects something as basic as the integrity of our elections is not just important; it is absolutely vital. Having a procedural mechanism in place that thwarts this is the very definition of insanity. Refusing to remove that mechanism now means no tomorrow.
For years, I have heard Conservatives say that we cannot abolish the filibuster because of what the other side will do if they regain power. This ignores 2 fundamental facts.
They have already admitted to you that they cannot win unless you let them cheat.
If you let them cheat, and win, they will rig you right out of the game permanently.
Ending the filibuster ends the cheating. What more reason do we need than that?
