Framework of a slate of debates

An anti-Catholic protestant wants to debate me on Catholic vs Protestant theology.

A proper debate is obviously arguing for or against a particular proposition. Building on our previous discussions, I am proposing this slate of statements to be debated. Upon agreement, we will start fleshing out the dates, times and format.

I think this presents the most logical order of subjects flowing into each other.

  1. Vanguard America (VA) will defend the classic protestant doctrine which posits the Scripture is the one and only infallible rule and authority of faith

  2. VA will argue for the protestant numbering of the 10 Commandments which sets the prohibition of graven images as its own, stand-alone commandment and conflates covet thy neighbor's wife and thy neighbor's goods into a single commandment. We may briefly touch on the subject of images and of the Sabbath, time permitting.

  3. VA will argue that a man is saved by ''faith alone'' and no ''works'' are required.

  4. The 4 Persons (T4P) will argue for the Biblical basis of the sinlessness of Mary.

  5. T4P will prove, via Scripture, the perpetual virginity of Mary.

  6. T4P will prove that the Catholic church is the New Israel.

  7. T4P will establish the Biblical basis for Infant Baptism

  8. T4P will prove that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist

  9. T4P will establish the existence and purpose of purgatory via Scripture

  10. VA will argue for the classic, futurist interpretation of the Book of Revelation and the identity of the Whore of Babylon as being the Catholic church. T4P will counter with the correct interpretations.
