The trip so far and what is to come

I have basically been spending the whole day here in Saint Alban's, Vermont in recovery mode. In the roughtly 27 hours between 8 AM Wednesday to 11 AM today, I had a grand total ofg about 2 hours sleep, worked a full shift and traveled nearly 600 miles. It's not easy to just shrug that off at my age. The experience of driving through Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey brought back some long dormant and painful memories. I haven't made that trip in at least a decade and my life has sure changed since then.
True, I have technically been in New York but the experience of Manhattan, Times Square, Herald Square and Rockefeller center is a far cry from driving through the Catskills. Vermont was like driving through a post card.
I am spending the night here in Saint Alban's.
A word or two about him.
Saint Alban was a Roman citizen of Verulamium and the first-recorded British Christian martyr, venerated as the protomartyr of Britain. During a Roman persecution, he sheltered the priest Amphibalus, converted to Christianity, and surrendered himself in the priest’s place. Refusing to renounce his new faith, he was tortured and beheaded. Tradition links his martyrdom to miracles, and St Albans Cathedral now stands near the site of his execution. (Wiki)

Vermont is now the 20th state I have visited and tomorrow, Canada becomes my 5th different country.

The magnificent Basillica of Notre Dame in Montreal is where I will be tomorrow. More details to follow.
