THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME- COUNTDOWN PART 2

Exactly 8 months from today - September 14th - I will leave on a plane that will take me here. This is Tel Aviv, Israel and this is where the journey really begins for me.

Tel Aviv is a major city in Israel, known for its vibrant culture, nightlife, and as a significant economic and technological hub. Here are a few key points about Tel Aviv:

  • Location: Situated on the Mediterranean coast, Tel Aviv is Israel's second-largest city after Jerusalem.

  • History: Founded in 1909, Tel Aviv was originally built as a garden suburb of the ancient port city of Jaffa. It has since grown to merge with Jaffa, forming what is now known as Tel Aviv-Yafo.

  • Economy: Often referred to as the "Start-Up Nation's" hub, Tel Aviv is home to numerous tech startups, venture capital funds, and innovation centers. It's known for its significant contributions to fields like cybersecurity, fintech, and AI.

  • Culture: Tel Aviv boasts a rich cultural scene with numerous museums, galleries, and theaters. It's also famous for its Bauhaus or International Style architecture, leading to its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Lifestyle: The city has a reputation for its liberal and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with a lively nightlife, extensive beaches, and a diverse food scene, including a flourishing vegan and vegetarian culture.

  • Politics: Tel Aviv is generally considered one of the more secular and progressive cities in Israel, often at the forefront of political and social movements.

Here I will begin to unravel this mystery of sorting out how the birthplace of Christianity co exists with Islam, Secular progressivism and a new Judaism that rejects the Messiah. How the birthplace of the Christian faith coexists with these ideologies naturally aligned against it.

It is almost as if I am going to a different country within a country.

The plane trip begins on September 14th, we dine and sleep in Tel Aviv on the 15th. On the 16th, the day of my brother Mike's passing, the religious journey starts.

I get chills thinking about it.

Here is how 206 Tours describes the agenda for that day:

This morning we will depart Tel Aviv to Caesarea Maritima, located on the shores of the Mediterranean. Built by Herod the Great, Caesarea was where St. Peter baptized the first gentile convert, Cornelius (Acts 10). We will see the Roman theatre, Herod’s Palace, view the Hippodrome, and the harbor from which St. Paul sailed on his journeys to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the ancient world. Continue to Nazareth to visit the museum and archaeological Garden, which contain remains of Nazareth at the time of Christ. Visit the museum and archaeological Garden where we can see the remains of Nazareth at the time of Christ, as well as St. Joseph’s workshop – which is now known as St. Joseph’s Church. Within the Church of the Annunciation, you will make your way down to the Grotto to see the remains of the house of the Blessed Mother and where the Angel of the Lord announced the good news to Mary. From here, we drive to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle, changing water into wine at His mother’s request. We celebrate Mass here at the Wedding Church, and married couples will have the chance to renew their wedding vows. From there, we continue to our hotel by the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight.
