Stronger than Steel was the 3rd consecutive book I have read about Therese of Lisieux since November and the 4th overall.

It took me longer to get through than I had hoped but I finished it today- February 16th- President's Day.

Since the next one is a mere 62 pages, I would hope I get through it much quicker.

The Great Peshtigo fire is about the worst fire in American history.

It got its name by the fact that the fire originated around the town of Peshtigo, Wisconsin.

The fire covered an incredible amount of space and cost the lives of about 2,500 people.

The story is a tragic one but also a miraculous one.

Saved from the fire were a small chapel in what is now Champion, Wisconsin about an hour south.

Among the persons saved was none other than Servant of God Adele Brise. Adele's cause for canonization has just been opened.

The Mother of God appeared to Adele in 1859. It is the only church approved Marian apparition in United States history.

I have been there and look forward to reading this book.

I will keep you posted.
