Prediction: Donald Trump will resign before the end of his term

I believe that resignation is an absolute certainty and the timing of it will be very interesting.

That Trump is in very hot water with the intractable Iran war, the Epstein files and a hundred other things is just a reality. That the Republican party is taking on water because of him is just as clear. It is clear to even the most casual observer that Trump is compromised by the Epstein files and that has paralyzed the entire Republican agenda.

The only way Trump stays out of prison is if that information is never released or if he receives a Presidential pardon. The GOP is convinced that their agenda still resonates with the American people more than the Democrats. On that point, they are probably right.

Thus, the GOP will attempt a desperate and bold move. They will guarantee Trump a blanket pardon in exchange for his resignation. JD Vance will assume the Presidency and appoint Marco Rubio as his VP.

The new administration will radically reverse Trump's course by:

  1. Returning to a solid and outspoken pro-life platform.

  2. Slow down the progress of the surveillance state

  3. Public repudiation of Israel's aggression and AIPAC influence

  4. A dramatic effort to reestablish good standing with the Pope and the Catholic laity.

A Catholic President and VP will demonstrate how important this is to be restoring the Republican relationship with Catholics that Trump has destroyed.

I believe this will happen within the next 12 months and that Republicans believe this could save the 2028 Presidential election. The danger of this strategy is that, if the public learns that Trump's crimes, with respect to the Epstein files, are truly as horrific as evidence seems to suggest, the GOP could incur a backlash for protecting him.

Nevertheless, the GOP will pursue this option because it will be seen as its own chance.
