Three things I knew and predicted going into the Thursday Vatican announcement, check our archives I am on record:
That the Vatican would not approve the apparitions as supernatural and coming from the Virgin Mother. I predicted they would simply leave the Bishop's decisions in place rather than a formal condemnation.
That the Vatican would give some kind of verbiage that allowed continued pilgrimage to the place as a site of religious devotion.
That the Medjugorje supporters would lie about the decision regardless of what it was.
As it turned out, I was 100% correct on all 3 points. This led me to be a little disappointed. I was hoping (though not expecting) that the Vatican would be more forceful in condemning this demonic fraud and ban pilgrimages. Sadly, (and as expected), economic and political considerations won out.
Let's be clear, though. The Medjugorje supporters did not get what they sought- and needed- which is an approval.
Predictably, however, they are lying and claiming they did despite the fact that even the Conservative press and The Catholic press have all got the story right. The New York Post is a Conservative, Catholic friendly, publication.
Medjugorje was not approved on Wednesday and today, Saturday, it remains not approved. In fact, it will never be approved because it's from the Devil!
That's why the "decision" from the Vatican allows people to go to the place but encourages them not to visit the seers.
Isn't it is astounding that 6 visits from the Madonna in 1917 to Fatima were enough to secure an approval but tens of thousands to these hucksters in Bosnia are not enough? We know full well why.
