Day 4 update #2 and preview of what's to come

It's about 12 minutes after 5 PM Fatima time I type this so that will be about lunch time on the east coast of the United States. We have a little window of free time and I'm about to walk down to the Cova Da Iria (apparition site) to pray for my good friend Lisa Marie Nicole. I wanted to get in a quick update first.

A little review first. On Wednesday, before going to Fatima, we went the tiny village of Astruel. We went to and walked through the actual homes of Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. The 3 children Lucia (10), Francisco (9) and Jacinta (7) would routinely walk the half hour trek through the woods and green pastures to the Cova to play or tend the sheep.

It was in places along this route that the children were visited 3 times by angels in 1916 in what a prelude to the Blessed Mother's visits. One of those visits (the 2nd one) was in Lucia's backyard. I posted about that yesterday. The other 2 were right here.

As you can see, a nice little paved walkway has been placed here. It leads almost all the way from the villiage to the Cova along the route the children walked. It is hilly and takes about 30 minutes (and a little effort) to walk it.

It is well worth it because little gazebos have been put in place for all 14 Stations of the cross. We literally did the stations of the cross walking in the footsteps of the 3 shepherd children!

At the end you encounter a tiny little chapel called Saint Stephen's on top of which has been erected a life size depiction of Calvary. From the platform is a spectacular view of the surrounding area. We prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet in that chapel.

Well. I have about 1 1/2 hours left of my free time before dinner at 7:00 PM. (2:00 US Eastern time). I think we are dong the rosary after.
