Dallas and Dealey Plaza first impressions

It has been a real long day, to be sure. The flight itself was about 3 hours long but it seemed like a good half hour before they let us off the plane. I had to take two shuttles to get to the rental car place and the first one got stuck behind a car wreck. I ended up getting to Mass late but it wasn't my fault. After Mass, I drove to the hotel just in time to see Oklahoma finish off an upset of Texas. Notre Dame rolled today so they could jump to #1 if Bama inches out Georgia.
I digress.
I was tired and hungry when I got to the hotel and I considered just kicking back and watching football. I couldn't.
After all this time, after all these years, I had to see it.
Walking there, I could not help but be floored by the massively tall buildings. Just like Texas to do everything big, beautiful and modern....
until.....
A wave of emotion overcame me and I was transformed.
To be in the place, in this tragic scene. There are not words.

This X marks the exact spot where this happened.

It is impossible that that shot came from the Texas School Book Depository. The angle isn't difficult. It's impossible. More tomorrow.
