And then there were 8

The home teams all hold serve in1st round games.

All 4 home teams won, and they all looked very impressive in doing so. Now, attention turns to Christmas before we get to see the Peach, Fiesta, Rose and Sugar bowls that decide who moves to the semi-finals.

Let's take a quick look at these 4 games.

New Year's Eve

Penn State vs Boise State

Fiesta Bowl

The only game on New Year's Eve, so someone has the opportunity to make a spotlight sharing statement. Picking the earth-shattering upset is tantalizing, especially with Boise State's history of those. One example was against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

The 2 teams have one common opponent- Oregon. They both lost but the Broncos kept it closer. Im going to predict the stunner- Boise State gets it done!

Boise State 37 Penn State 24

New Year's Day.

Texas vs Arizona State

In the battle of ugly uniforms, Texas will take the Peach Bowl

Texas 28 Arizona State 17

Oregon vs Ohio State

Oregon won the Big 10 and Michigan beat Ohio State in their own house. None of that will matter because Ohio State will be the last Big 10 team standing after beating the Ducks in the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State 45 Oregon 38

Notre Dame vs Georgia

The Blue and Gold dismantle the Dawgs and continue their march towards destiny in the Sugar Bowl.

Notre Dame 31 Georgia 3
