An incredible devotional message on a day of mission

ree

Today is a day I have looked forward to for a long time. When I leave work today, my vacation begins. This will be a vacation unlike any I have previously had as I will be embarking on a pilgrimage to holy and miraculous sites in Portugal, Spain, France and the United States.

My hope was that the last few weeks and days leading up to this break would be somewhat peaceful in order that I may more easily immerse myself in the spiritual significance of these places and events.

Sadly, things haven't really gone that way and a brutal few weeks has me staggering to the finish line. There has been much turmoil in my life and in our world and I am always the one trying to find meaning in the madness, sometimes to an obsessive degree.

I do a number of devotionals each day and today's message was a great consolation. The devil has really been assailing me these last few weeks, in many ways. This even includes things like nightmares, one of which I had last night.

Today's message reminded me to keep that perspective fixed on God and the mission. The enemy would not be hitting me so hard if there weren't great graces he was attempting to block me from receiving. Seeing God in the storm is the right view.
