Moving on from Blogtalkradio
It's actually not going to be as difficult for us as you might think. We had already made the decision to move on before Blogtalk decided to pull the plug.
It's a really neat idea and I hope someone else picks up the concept. The idea of a live podcasting platform that can accept calls was ahead of it's time in 2006 but apparently, they didn't keep up their IT infrastructure. It was hard to maintain momentum with their frequent outages that sometimes lasted a week or more. However, even when they were up, there were constant connectivity issues and sound issues that marred otherwise good content.
Anyone striving for the excellence we are, could not help but be disappointed.
Even deeper than that is that the live podcast is becoming a thing of the past. Many people's schedules force them to download and listen later. The idea of podcasting live just doesn't hold the value it did before.
We will now aim more towards quality and less towards quantity. Productions that endure are the aim going forward.
Tuning out the noise
It's no secret that some people hate us. It's a cross to bear but we are prepared to simply ignore them and focus on our most important mission, true to our name:
To love God with our whole heart, mind, strength and soul.
My personal involvement
I have worked almost 450 hours of overtime this year and that had a clear impact on the apostolate. About another 100 hours were spent in traffic.
My new job, which starts Monday, should see a drastic decrease in both of those numbers while giving me a big income boost and much more time for devotionals, additional masses and adoration and time in the apostolate.
God willing, it should be a blessing all around.
My personal place
Great trials still exist but what God has seen me through is straight-up miraculous. I continue to try to gain grace and foster an attitude of gratitude, humility and forgiveness even amidst the trials.
Your continued prayers are appreciated.
God bless you 🙏
