A special Rosary, Morning offering and a mini-litany for you

These prayers I pray every day except in extreme circumstances where I'm unable to. The formula I have custom fit to my own life, and I will explain each part. Obviously, your life is different, and some elements will be different, but I offer it as an example of what a structure morning offering might look like.

First, a comment about the Rosary. I have maybe 50 rosaries. I love collecting them. My rosaries have been used and blessed in many places such as Bethlehem, Fatima and Lourdes.

This particular rosary, which I just prayed for the first time, was purchased and blessed at the miraculous shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Wisconsin. This is the only church approved Marian apparition in the United States.

The beginning salutation is where we give our intentions.

Queen of the Holy Rosary, you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to 3 shepherd children, the treasures of grace hidden in the rosary. Inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion, in order that by meditating on the fruits of our redemption we may obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners and of Russia and these favors which we ask in this Rosary:

Rules of thumb:

• I always try to pray for the souls- on earth and in purgatory- who have no one else to pray for them.

• I often find it helpful to use the ACTS formula to order my prayers;

  • Prayers of Adoration first

  • Prayers of Contrition second

  • Prayers of Thanksgiving third

  • Prayers of Supplication last

I add these in honor of Parkland shooting victim Gina Montalto. The first was the name of her church, the 2nd is the name of her cemetery. This is an example of one of these personal touches.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley, of tears. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus; O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

“O God whose only begotten Son by His Life has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, Grant that we beseech Thee while meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord Amen.

The Morning offering:

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen.

I finished all this in less than a half hour. A worthwhile start to a morning.
