A Rosary a day #47. Sometimes, yesterday's pain is a bridge to tomorrow's promise

I have some very intricate and elaborate rosaries in my collection. This is not one of them. On December 25th, 2012, a small and humble Christmas tree stood in my parents' house on Christmas day with this rosary hanging from the branches. The tree was transplanted in the front yard as my dad struggled with cancer. This rosary still hung on those branches when he died exactly 2 months later on February 25th.

In this whole cocktail of pain and confusion that has been my life ever since, it is just one more thing to cling to in the search for meaning, through the sorrow. A simple Christmas rosary- green and red. It reminds me of the Christmas message. The people who lived in darkness have seen a great light.
